ShoutLife.com was started in November, 2006 as an effort by Paul McLellan and Steve McLellan. Paul had previously created several niche social networking sites and wanted to embark on a project of creating a community environment that was safe and clean, yet still full of the features that make online social networking great. Paul designed and developed the framework of ShoutLife, with a focus on having a user-friendly yet intuitive navigation. Steve, with his background in operating online community systems, started working on building up and interacting with the community.
Several weeks later, they enlisted the help of Steve Schletty, who is a career graphic designer and application developer. His assets with visuals and programming allowed ShoutLife to ramp up quickly as a quality platform. Days afterwards, Hauns Froehlingsdorf joined the group as the head IT guy. Hauns has built a career on building and supporting the infrastructure for large web based operations.
Over the year that followed, ShoutLife saw much fanfare and attention as it filled a void left by much of the other social networking organizations. By providing community features for individuals, music artists, authors, comics and organizations, there was an opportunity for anyone to plug in and get connected. Aside from being a useful social networking tool, ShoutLife focused on creating and maintaining communities that had significant positive effects on its participants.
Although Paul McLellan and Steve Schletty have left ShoutLife to pursue other interests, they still offer assistance on various web projects that arise. Even in 2008, ShoutLife continues to provide a safe and clean, dynamic community environment.
